Although being supremely friendly, the Malays and Malaysians do not take care of their water ways. Which is a real spit in the face, considering Tourism is their largest industry. I worry so much more about Indonesia, who is apparently the more heartless of the two companies making up Borneo.

Indonesia is one of the main Asylums for Xerox, who can hide from social scrutiny behind an ethical thwarted system of environmental-extortion. This is where the Orphan Orang-Utah in Semenggoh Wildlife Center predominantly are rescued from. Say more precisely, Orphaned by the Milling of their Home.

Probably for the next repress of the Jungle Book no doubt. With pretty, color-fast vibrant gloss glaze, sold off by the lifeless, worthless GSM. Tabla Rasa, in their eyes is a barren Earth.

This isn’t a pretty story; the slash and burn methods of deforestation are a guise for burning out the Native inhabitants and pretending like they never existed. Because if you’ve lived in the forest your whole existence and someone literally obliterates it. How are you to prove an invalid statement of ‘This is My Home, This Ash’. *What home? Do you have any paperwork*. You can’t point to THAT beautiful tree that has lived with your family for millennia and say “THERE THAT IS MY HOME, FROM THAT LAND MARK, TO THAT STONE”.

Being such Territoriality fixated animals/people, this not only means they have been devastated to the core, but they are deeply respectful behind the tribal confrontation face of changing boundaries. They don’t DARE think of anything else as their own, but what they have earned, learned and know how to manage. They wouldn’t be bold enough to say, “THIS WHOLE FOREST IS OUR HOME, FUCK OFF”, when faced with such a show of passive aggression.

And then there are the other Animals… Orang – Utan in Bahasa Melayu meaning People (from the outside/observed) of the Forest. They are less of a threat because they cannot speak to those who cannot listen to anything but their own tongue. They are looked after, unlike the tribes of the once inhabitable forest, who are hired by rich Chinese Business-men. To make Fibre-Glass bathtubs even though they have everything they need. Payment almost always goes to drugs, booze, smokes. To cope with the spiritual loss.

This is a forest where native tribes nurse Tiger Cubs and have Wild Boar as pets. This is a Jungle, turned into a Forest, simply to de-Forest and concrete.

Tabula Rasa my arse. Don’t pretend you can’t see the Nature all around you. Or you wouldn’t go deep into the middle of it to cut it down.

Oh, Xerox other Asylum is the Amazon Rain-forest. Hiding behind the desperately poverty stricken farmers who Slash and Burn to plant Soya for feed crop/grazing. Which have a few more yields than the Palms, oh so economical two or three.
